The ocean will humble even the best of surfers, and the Florence brothers know that very well. All three grew up sipping on that famous Hawaiian juice and they’ve learned how to swallow it without choking over the years. Sometimes, though, a particularly big day will go down the wrong tube. Which is what happened recently, as you can see in the video here.
Aptly titled “Hawaiian Sandbar Humbles the Florence Brothers,” it shows a very fun looking session — as long as you’re okay with finding sand in every orifice for a few weeks after a session. The sandbars on Oahu are incredibly important to the quality of the waves, and they shift constantly. That’s part of the fun, though, and John, Nate, and Ivan are on a constant search for fun.
