Hydrofoiling gets a lot of online hate, doesn’t it? Sometimes it’s warranted, like when someone takes one out into a crowded lineup and threatens to cut everyone’s faces off with an errant mast. But other times, it looks — and very likely is — the most fun anyone can possibly have on anything. The video above is one of those times.
Foil surfer Adam Bennetts headed out on a small day in the northern rivers NSW. There was a pair of longboarders out there bobbing around waiting patiently for waves. Bennetts, though, did not wait. Bennetts simply continued to surf for an obscenely long time, literally riding circles around the longboarders, surfing waves they weren’t able to catch. Surfing waves from the outside in, the middle in, and the inside in. If you’re someone who has a hate-on for foiling and you’re able to watch this and honestly say it doesn’t look fun… well, I call you a liar.
