According to a report by the Geelong Advertiser, Women’s World Tour #9 Jacqueline Silva was hospitalized this morning after a head-on car accident on the Surf Coast Highway near Torquay before 7 AM.
According to the Geelong Advertiser:
Silva was driving towards Torquay from Geelong when a car travelling in the other direction swerved into her path causing a head-on crash.
Police believe the driver of the other vehicle, a 42-year-old Torquay man, suffered “some kind of medical condition and blacked out.”
Both drivers were taken to the Geelong hospital by ambulance with injuries described as minor.
At the moment, it’s unclear whether Silva will be able to compete when competition resumes at Bells Beach.
