Ain’t hurricane swells grand? Hurricane Frank was good to the Wedge, that’s for certain. It’s a wave that loves a good bump in activity, and those who call the Wedge their local spot are a little different than surfers anywhere else. Making it out of a wave is less of a priority there — perhaps because, when it’s big it’s a little more unlikely — and the focus instead is placed on the scant few seconds inside a tube or that pit in your stomach making a giant drop.
