For anyone who’s been paying any attention, the fact that there’s been some crazy surf in California shouldn’t be news. But that doesn’t mean the frequent updates from local YouTubers don’t make for riveting viewing. The latest came from Southern California surfing mainstay BEEFS TV, which recently documented yet another round of El Niño-powered surf to slam the region.
The video starts off in Laguna beach, an area which has been particularly ravaged in recent weeks. There, he was assisted in documenting the chaos by frequent collaborator and “number one oceanic news reporter’ Blair Conklin – who himself has been reporting on the goings-on, including sounding the alarm on a massive crack that appeared just below PCH.
Of course, for local wave riders there was an upside. The back half of the edit shows Wedge surfers getting pretty spectacularly barreled as a result of the same waves that laid waste to their neighbors homes.
The ocean giveth, and the ocean taketh away.
