Right now, the coldest air in decades is whirling around the United States. Some 75 percent of the country will experience temperatures below freezing, and in some places, things are downright arctic. That, however, won’t stop the eternally stoked Ben Gravy from getting his toes wet. “This polar vortex stuff is heavy,” he writes. “The freezing cold can’t stop me from scoring surf during it, but it’s trying really hard.”
