Imagine flying over myriad empty lineups, checking the surf from above, and taking your pick where you want to land for the day to surf your brains out. That’s the reality for pro skier Rory Bushfield. Recently, he and his friends have been taking his puddle jumper plane all across Vancouver Island, off B.C.’s Pacific Coast.
“Last year we started coming to these beaches because they’re pretty much giant airstrips,” says Rory. “We realized we could land on ’em, and immediately we started throwing boards in the plane and going surfing!”
From the looks of it, the crew scores some pretty fun waves—camping on the beach at night and waking up the next day to do it all over again.
