At 53 years old, 2-time World Champ, Tom Carroll, is still making surfing Pipeline look like a walk in the park. He “used to own Pipeline,” former World Champ and ASP commentator, Martin Potter, explained. Well, Martin, it appears as if he still does.
Winning the Pipe Masters in 1987, 1990 and 1991, the legend continued to show no mercy in the Heritage Series Final against Derek Ho, Sunny Garcia and Gary Elkerton. Scoring a 9.60 for an insanely deep barrel, Carroll made his way to the winner’s podium where he was crowned champion once again. This takes place nearly 30 years after his incredible performance at the ’91 Pipe Masters.
