The Inertia

Matt Wilkinson, 23, was arrested on October 22 for public intoxication. According to reports, Wilko was found by police near Balboa Boulevard in Newport Beach, the town where the Australian had decided to make his home for the summer. Wilkinson was discovered on the side of the road after the police received reports of a man lying in the street, a few hours after he Tweeted “We just bought so much food and the gas bottle is primed all we need is babes!” If we’re judging by past experience, he probably found some. His blog, Out2brunch, is full of pictures of the young Australian’s exploits.

Ranked 18th in the world, Copacabana’s Wilkinson isn’t exactly known for staying in the shadows. From his perm to his ever-changing wetsuits, Wilko’s usually doing something that catches the public’s eye. Wilko was released from police custody when he sobered up, and it’s unlikely he’ll be charged.
