I hate crowds. Most people do, but I think I hate them more than most. As long as the waves are half decent, I’ll choose worse waves and less people over good waves and lots. There’s just something awful about seeing perfect waves roll through and knowing that you’re going to have to battle relentlessly for them. That’s why I’d hate surfing on the Gold Coast, I think.
After a decent flat spell, the waves turned on at Australia’s most crowded arena. And of course, because Australia is full of surfers, it looks like almost everyone in Australia showed up. Doesn’t it look terrible?
