I can’t think of a better name for a signature board. “The Mad Cat” is Clay Marzo’s pro model from SUPERbrand surfboards and if you haven’t heard of it, listen up – it’s one of the most popular boards on the market and Clay has been blowing up on the things. And it’s the most appropriate name for a board since Channel Islands’ “Dane Fucking Reynolds.” Clay clings to his boards like a cat. And his laybacks are absolutely mad.
In this latest clip, Clay heads to a mysto spot in his homeland of Maui. It’s a wonky left with ramps, barrels, and random rocks – a perfect arena for Clay’s creative surfing. And then the view from above, with Clay boosting airs in electric blue water, is something magical. We could watch Clay surf all day. It’s no wonder some folks think he’s horrendously underrated.
