There’s so much going on in the world of surfing these days. Between people hating on the ASP, sexism, misogyny, and racism, forums are blowing up all over the web with a mix of bright intelligent comments, mean trolls bashing everyone, and everything in between. I, for one, have a reaction to almost every topic or article trending in the surf community, but I can’t always express them accurately. So I thought I’d say it with a .gif.

1. When I heard the news the ASP was adding Lowers to the Women’s World Tour

2. Every time an ASP commentator uses the word “humble” to describe a female competitor during a surf competition

3. When I find out my picks for Fantasy Surfer lost early

4. When I found out there wasn’t a prize for winning the Women’s Fantasy Surfer

5.  Every time guys get all super aggro in the water

6. When Laird Hamilton said this about Maya Gabeira: “She doesn’t have the skill to be in these conditions. She should not be in this kind of surf,” he said. “I feel like it’s Carlos’ responsibility to take care of her and he’s just lucky that she didn’t drown.”

7. When I saw the trailer for the Roxy contest

8. When Cori Schumacher spoke up for female athletes everywhere and started a petition on change.org to stop companies like Roxy from “selling sexy”

9) When Chad Wells made his comment: “Some butchy lesbos were representing surfing (in the past) not rigged out sexy women who are in touch with their sexuality and know exactly how they are represented and marketed. 1 well ridden wave at the end of this clip would’ve made the critics happy.”

…and then I was like

10. It turns out that marketing women in sports is kind of like this

11. But who cares. The women on tour are surfing so freaking good!
