The Inertia

To say that Ocean Beach, San Francisco was firing the past two days would be an egregious understatement. The Beach got absolutely pounded by triple-overhead waves in the 15- to 18-foot range – even bigger on the outside sets. Not only that, but there were all-day offshores, producing some of the most magnificent surf we’ve seen so far this season in San Francisco, both yesterday and the day before.

It wasn’t exactly the “best” surf for us mere mortals (I paddled out yesterday a.m. when the tide was higher, caught one massive closeout that blew me off my board and called it a day). But the waves are definitely worth a mind-surf, courtesy of the NorCal Surfer a Bay Area image maker who was there to capture the action. Stay tuned for more coverage as there’s another round of XL swell on the horizon.
