Jordy Smith likes to get barreled. Sure, every surfer does — or at least they want to like getting barreled but they haven’t quite made it there just yet. But Jordy Smith might like it a little more than most. He’s not afraid to search far and wide to find what he wants, and in his latest YouTube offering, he headed the to very tip of Africa.
While it can’t be said for certain, Smith is likely surfing near the Cape Agulhas region, located on the southernmost tip of Africa. Interestingly, it’s where the warm waters of the Indian Ocean meet the freezing waters of the Atlantic, making it a part of the ocean that’s very… alive.
It’s a wild place with wild weather, but Smith and a few friends were lucky enough to score this wave between storms. Pretty hard to beat waves like this with just a few friends out, isn’t it?
