It is not very often that south swells sneak their way up the California coast during winter to say hello to their favorite summer spots. But it’s not surprising at all, considering Southern California was still wearing trunks in late November. Mother Nature has been very indecisive lately, but we’re okay with that. We love summer.
What’s also cool about this Wedge video is that it paints a very different picture from what we are all so used to seeing. No 20-foot drops and broken necks here. And the peanut gallery? Pshh, hardly. Just a couple of funemployed lads and a few groms enjoying a surprise visit from a south swell to Newport Beach. And check out that backwash in slow-mo! Neat, ain’t it?
