The 2022 Da Hui Backdoor Shootout, which just wrapped up a few days ago, was an event to remember, going down in near-perfect Pipeline conditions, with plenty of action and top-scoring rides. One of the most memorable parts of the event was watching the first all-women’s team – consisting of Moana Jones Wong, Bethany Hamilton, Bianca Valenti, and Keala Kennelly – absolutely charge, getting ridiculously shacked and coming away all smiles. “I felt thankful, happy and excited to be surfing this wave with just three other girls out,” said Moana. “Pipeline is such an amazing wave, I love surfing it.”
