The Inertia

Imagine you’ve just woken up on the planet Mars. Scientists have told us there at least used to be water here, and Mars is the one planet we believe is closest to Earth in its ability to support life. In theory, martian air doesn’t contain oxygen, but somehow you find that you can breathe. A little bit of exploring reveals a few other familiar things, like plant life and eventually…an ocean. An ocean with waves. Of course, the only reasonable thing to do now is go for a surf.

Filmed around Lanzarote, the team of surfers and filmmakers created Mars. Waves on the Closest Planetan award-winning short film that paints this exact picture for us.
