One would think that Jack Robinson, a surfer so adept at surfing waves of larger than average size, would have dipped his toes into Waimea at some point. But not so. The session John John Florence released on YouTube recently shows Jack’s first go with the Bay. John, however, is so comfortable there that he goes switch on a wave. And given a bit of time, Jack would be that comfortable too — maybe just as comfortable as the time he found a party wave at the Box with JJF.
And so John, on a day that was somewhere between 15 and 30 feet, decided that Jack should get his feet wet at Waimea. Jack, as you know, truly shines when the waves get very meaty, and Waimea is nothing if not that.
